Draft for legal review · September 27, 2026
BorderStar is independent Canadian customs research and brokerage workflow software. This draft describes the product's data handling at a high level. It requires legal and operational review before commercial release.
Information used by the service
Depending on the features you use, BorderStar may process account and workspace information, access requests, regulatory questions, importer and shipment records, uploaded documents, feedback, and operational audit events. Please avoid adding information you are not authorized to share.
Purpose and access
Information is used to provide the requested research and workspace features, maintain security, and support the service. Authorized workspace members can access information within their workspace according to their roles. BorderStar's regulatory source index is separate from customer workspace records.
AI and connected services
When an AI feature is enabled and used, relevant questions and retrieved context may be sent to a configured AI provider to produce an answer. Identity and optional integrations are separate; connecting a third-party account requires its own consent. Available providers and integration scopes should be identified to customers before activation.
Storage and security
Workspace records are stored on the service's server-side database; some interface preferences may be stored in your browser. Signed sessions, role checks, and workspace boundaries are used to protect access. No system can promise absolute security.
Retention and requests
A customer-facing retention schedule, deletion process, provider list, and incident-response procedure must be finalized before commercial release. For privacy or access requests during the pilot, email [email protected].
